DPHS DECA students are TOP in the WORLD! All five of our student competitors made the finalist round at internationals and are competing for the top spot! This means all students scored in the top 18 of all competitors by being #1 in their judges' section. To put the competition into perspective, there are 23,000+ students in attendance at this conference! Stay tuned for updates to come!
The Deer Park Trap Shooting team is required to be a current/active FFA member, have their hunter's safety certification, go through safety training, attend practices each weekend during the school year, and compete in four competitions to qualify for state. A regular weekend competition consists of the individuals each shooting 50 Birds (Clay Targets) 25 at 16 yards and 25 at 22 yards (handicap). On April 19th - 20th The State Trapshooting FFA Invitational is held each year; the teams consist of 3 to 5 members and the TOP 4 scores count towards the overall score. Each team member shoots 50 Birds in Regs at 16 yards and 50 at 22 yards (handicap) for a total of 100 rounds. Great job Deer Park!
