At the April 28th board meeting, the board recognized Richelle Harget, Home Link consultant, for the Above and Beyond award. Richelle has been a dedicated member of the Deer Park Home Link team for many years, known for her unwavering support of students, families, and staff. Her calm, positive presence fosters a collaborative school culture. When an urgent need for a Spanish-endorsed staff member arose, Richelle, a bilingual educator, stepped up and earned the endorsement, showcasing her commitment to growth and meeting community needs. In addition, Richelle coordinates state testing at Deer Park Home Link, a challenging task in a non-traditional learning environment. She approaches it with grace, professionalism, and a clear focus on student success. She is also recognized for her innovative approach to family engagement, continually finding creative ways to strengthen school-community connections. Many thanks to Richelle for her dedication and commitment to students and families.
Stay tuned as we continue to highlight staff members who have gone above and beyond. #inspireexcellence

Congratulations to Deer Park graduate and business owner, Kelsie Carlson. Kelsie was recognized by the Washington State Administrator (WASA) region for her support and advocacy for the schools. DPSD thanks Kelsie for her generosity, support, and commitment to supporting students!
Kelsie's commitment to supporting our schools spans from elementary through high school, making a significant impact in various ways.
Kelsie's involvement is nothing short of inspiring. She volunteers tirelessly at elementary school events, attends evening functions, and generously donates both her time and proceeds directly back to the schools. This year alone, she sponsored an entire grade level at Deer Park High School, ensuring every student received Stags t-shirts to proudly represent their school spirit.
Beyond financial support, Kelsie goes the extra mile by organizing and facilitating community-wide send-offs for state-bound students. These events garner local media attention and involve collaborations with businesses, police, and fire departments to create a memorable escort that truly showcases community support.
On a weekly basis, Kelsie personally prepares and delivers coffee orders to each school, adding a personal touch that brightens the days of students and staff alike. Her dedication extends to advocating for the community through informative videos on bond and levy initiatives, ensuring that Deer Park remains a vibrant and well-supported educational hub.
"We are incredibly grateful for Kelsie's unwavering support, advocacy, and voice in our community," expressed by Dr. Alexa Allman, superintendent of Deer Park School District. "Her commitment exemplifies the spirit of leadership and generosity that makes Deer Park such a special place."
Kelsie Carlson's nomination for the regional community leadership award is a testament to her outstanding contributions and the profound impact she continues to make on the lives of students and families throughout Deer Park.

Happy Lunch Superhero Day to our incredible Food Service team! Your hard work and warm smiles are truly appreciated. Thank you for keeping our students fueled and ready to learn!

The District Office is excited to recognize and celebrate the staff members retiring this school year. A celebration will be held on May 7th at 4:00 PM at Deer Park High School. Join us in thanking them for their years of service and commitment to our schools!

Deer Park students and coaches received a "shout-out" for teamwork, inclusion, and belonging from another school district! DPSD participated at a neighboring school for Unified Soccer. Unfortunately, the Unified peers from the other team were unable to make it onto the bus. With generosity and kind hearts, two Deer Park students joyfully joined the other team! We are grateful for our coaches and students who exemplified grace, empathy, commitment, and inspired excellence! We are so proud of our Deer Park students, staff, and community! #inspireexcellence

Many thanks to Mayor Verzal for inviting and including the Deer Park School District in the City's Community Parks and Open Space planning process! Although this process is focused on the city's needs, it was inspiring for business leaders (including the Chamber of Commerce) and the City to highly consider the needs of our kids and families! What a great group of representatives from the community. We are excited to see where this planning process takes our community and how we can continue to partner and work together as a cohesive team.

Our Arcadia students had the opportunity to attend the Spokane Indians baseball game on Tuesday. Our students had a great time enjoying the game and the atmosphere. Big thanks to the Spokane Indians for the invitation!

DPHS Baseball update: H3H is back- we once again fight mental health!
Come spend the day with us!
On Sunday, April 27th, DPHS Baseball is hosting the 2nd Annual H3H Marathon Day of Baseball at the DPHS Baseball Field.
We are proud to be one of the only high school baseball program in Washington to take this on—and we couldn’t be more thrilled!
Why This Event Matters:
This day is about much more than baseball. We are coming together to raise mental health awareness, especially for student-athletes. One of the day’s highlights will be a powerful presentation by Kimber Erickson of KELLENCARES, a local foundation dedicated to breaking the stigma around mental health.
Mental Health Talk: 12:00 PM in the theatre
Open to all—parents, players, and community members are encouraged to attend
What to Expect:
Baseball games all day
Music & a live emcee to keep the energy high
Silent auction- we could use more items :)
Delicious food
Tons of fun activities for the whole family!
We'll see you on April 27th!
