Congratulations to Carter Rich. Carter was recognized as Rotary's student of the month for February. Carter enjoys his leadership on Link Crew at the High School. He enjoys math, reading, and golfing with his friends and family. Carter will be captain of the school's golf team this spring. He also works at the Deer Park Golf Course in the summer. Carter has aspirations of earning a master's degree in mathematics in secondary education and becoming a high school teacher. We are hopeful Carter will be able to return to Deer Park and serve our future students! Congratulations, Carter!
Happy President's Day! Reminder: No School Feb. 16 & 19
Early election results show that our Educational Programs and Operations Levy is likely passing, but our Capital Projects Bond might not reach enough votes needed for approval. Levies require 50%+1 voter approval and Bonds need 60% voter approval to pass. We are grateful to our voters and community. While we had hoped to see both measures pass, we know that this is a challenging time for school funding. Special thanks to the Committee to Support Deer Park Schools and their hard work and efforts with communication. The Facilities Advisory Committee and staff will be working on the next steps, and we will share information and updates as soon as they are available. For more information about our levy replacement and bond and what they fund, please see https://www.dpsd.org/page/bond-levy-information.

Make sure your voice is heard! Ballots for the February 13 election are due today.
What's on the ballot for Deer Park students? Prop. 1, an EP&O levy renewal that continues funding for staff, clubs, athletics, and smaller class sizes.
Prop. 2, a replacement Capital Bond, to address our growing district. The bond would fund a new elementary school to ensure all students have access to safe, modern learning spaces.

Congratulations to DPMS students who earned a 4.0 GPA - Way to go and keep up the great work!
Congratulations to our wrestlers! Best of luck at state!
February 13 measures support Deer Park students. Here are some fast facts:
- The EP&O levy is not a new tax, it replaces an expiring levy previously approved by our community and continues funding for staff (nurses, student resource officers, teachers), and extracurriculars (clubs and sports).
- The state does not provide any funding for building construction or maintenance. To address our growing district, we're asking the community to consider Prop. 2 to replace the current bond.
- The funding raised through Prop. 1 and Prop. 2 will stay in our community - which directly supports Deer Park Students!

What does Prop. 2, the Replacement Capital Bond, fund for our schools?
Bonds are for building. The Replacement Capital bond will address our growing capacity by ensuring students have the space they need to learn.
It would also provide a permanent learning space for the students in our Home Link program. Currently, they are in makeshift rooms housed in the district office.
The bond will provide funding to modernize our schools, providing our students with safe and secure learning spaces.

Congratulations to our Skills USA students - Keep up the fantastic welding & best of luck at state!
How does Prop. 1., the EP&O levy renewal support our students?
Levies are for learning. The EP&O levy continues funding the staff, academic programs, and extracurricular programs that support our students.
The levy bridges the gap between what the state funds and what our district needs to provide students with a quality education.
