CORRECTION on calendar, Middle school has a regular start time (8:25 am) on Wednesday Nov 1st. -- Practice for Volleyball is as follows: 8th Grade girls will go to the High School along with ALL Wrestling athletes, walk as a group- 3:00-5:00pm. 7th grade Volleyball will stay here at the Middle School in the gym.

DANCE FRIDAY 10/27/2023 Right after school 3:00 until 4:30 --$5.00 cover charge-- if you have an ASB card and/or plus card it's a 1.00 off, if you have both it's 2.00 off. Food for sale will be: Pizza 3.00 a slice--Candy bars 2.00 each--Chips 2.00 --Red vines 5 for 1.00--Soda 2.00--bottled water 1.00. DPMS students only. Let's get our boogie on!!

DPMS Parents in Education (PIE) Meeting and Activities! Good evening DPMS families. I hope you are well and have been enjoying the beautiful fall. I have a few announcements for this week's (and future) events. - The first is that this THURSDAY, October 26th from 6:30 - 7:30 we will host our first PIE or Parents in Education meeting in the middle school library. At PIE meetings we actually eat pie but we also talk about middle school events and happenings, as well as your issues and/or concerns. In addition, we will revive the Middle School Parent Group and discuss how you be involved at DPMS. All families are welcome as we appreciate the conversation and feedback. I hope you can make it Thursday. - This Friday is our first DPMS dance! This is part of our Run60 fundraiser in which all proceeds go to directly support student activities. The dance is from 3:00 - 4:30 in the GYM and costs $5 to get in but students with an ASB card and/or a Plus Card save a dollar for showing each. Concessions are sold in the cafeteria during the dance as well. - Speaking of the Run60 Fundraiser...I want to thank you for your support! The students did a fantastic job and have already met our $7000 goal, earning an afternoon activity! - Lastly, do you want to stay connected to what is going on at DPMS? This week is National Bus Safety Week! Please take a moment to review bus safety expectations with your children to ensure a safe ride to and from school. Thank you, bus drivers! Expectations include remaining seated, clearing the aisle, using quiet voices, and crossing in front of the bus. Our schools are our community. We are asking the community to consider a levy and bond in the February 2024 election that will continue funding for the day-to-day operations of our schools and address our facility needs and growing enrollment. All to ensure our students and staff have access to learning spaces that support their future growth.

Washington State Healthy Youth Survey - 2023 Parent and Student Information Letter English.pdf Good evening DPMS families. Deer Park School District will be participating in the Washington State Healthy Youth Survey, Wednesday, October 18th, 2023. The survey will be given to students in Grades 6, 8, 10 and 12. The Healthy Youth Survey includes questions related to physical activity and diet, unintentional and intentional injury, substance use, sexual behaviors, abuse, risk and protective factors, and access to school-based services. Survey results are used by schools, communities, and state agencies to plan programs to support our youth and reduce their risks. Participation in the survey is voluntary and the students’ answers are anonymous. There are no codes or information used to match a survey to a student. The Parent and Student Notification Letter is attached, available on the school website, as well as in the main office for more information about the Healthy Youth Survey. At the September 25 meeting, the Deer Park School Board approved resolutions asking our community to consider two funding measures in the February 13, 2024 election. We are asking voters to consider a Capital Projects Bond and a renewal of the Educational Programs and Operations Levy. Read about how these measures will support students and staff.
